Last Week's Winner and this Week's Giveaway!

First of all, congratulations to Nicki Lee, who won this week's giveaway of the assorted threads! I used the randon integer generator and up came her number!  I already have your address, Nicki Lee, so I will get the threads and the little charms out to you right away.

Once again, I am celebrating with another giveaway.  This week I am celebrating having over 500 posts to my blog!  Wow - I do like to talk, don't I?  lol

Since this week I am celebrating writing posts for my blog and your reading them, how about reading and writing materials for a prize?

First of all, the current issue of A Needle Pulling Thread!  This is a magazine that has been around since 2006 and I have been hooked since the first issue.  A Needle Pulling Thread celebrates Canadian needle arts and covers a diverse spectrum of needle and fibre arts:  quilting, fibre art, knitting, crochet, cross stitch, rughooking, embroidery, beading, creative sewing and more!  If you would like to check out the magazine, visit their website.  Samples of what is in this particular issue can be seen here.

The second item in the giveaway is a lovely girly datebook, suitable for any year.

The third item in the giveaway is a journal for counting your blessings.  Doesn't that fit in perfectly with the whole idea of celebrating whatever you are thankful for each week?  In this case you can make notes of your blessings every evening.  And look, if you turn the journal over, you can do the same during the day.

So, here is how the giveaway works:

1. For one entry leave a comment telling me what your favourite form of fiber and needle arts is right now or what you would like to try next.
2. For a second entry, become a follower or let me know you already are in a separate post.

3. For a third entry, blog about this giveaway and leave me another comment with a link to the post.
Good luck!

OH! I Love all these giveaways! Well....my favorite form of needlework right now is hand embroidery - I am doing a summer flower sampler and it is so relaxing. I am doing this to practise my stitches for my first crazy quilt project - A Patchwork Embroidery Bear! Can't wait....I also love to quilt, crochet and sew. Thanks for the chance and the great blog!

LOVE this give away!!! Right now, I'd say my favorite form of needle art is crazy quilting. I love embroidery, and want to learn stumpwork. I'm already a follower, and will leave a link back!

What a neat giveaway. I am a paper book type of person and I love to sit with my coffee and turn the pages. Much more comforting to me than the computer. Thanks for having all the nice giveaways on your blog.

You have awesome giveaways! I have done a number of needle arts over the years: embroidery, cross stitch, hardanger embroidery, knitting, crocheting, but my favorite is quilting and I am seriously addicted but I can manage it!!

Right now I'm creating 5zies for Jillayne's Winter Swap, so I am stitching, tatting, and embellishing. I guess my favourite form of needlearts is tatting. Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway.

I would like to try some wool stitching. Like a penny rug or a Christmas stocking. I think the wool would be dreamy to stitch through, but it may be too hot for now.

Miss Kerry I have been learning brazilian embroidery, but would truly love to do some three dimensional stitching such as thread painting and stumpwork. Congratulations on your blog posts.

Giveaway Day! (CLOSED)

I am very happy to be joining in the Giveaway Day through Sew, Momma, Sew .  I have chosen to share one of my finds from a shopping trip, or treasure hunts as I think of them.  This is an antique sewing box -  I could not resist it when I saw it for sale!  Were you able to guess the item from the sneak peek earlier in the week? The box itself is fairly small, 8 inchs X 6 inchs and 4 inches high (20 cm X 15 cm and 10 cm high).  From my research it is of Asian origin. Inside the sewing box is lined with hand-painted silk.  The inside of the lid features a neat little needlebook. In the bottom of the sewing box there are more beautiful hand-painted blossoms and an attached pincushion.  I hope you are as charmed by this little box as I was when I found it and that you will enter my giveaway.  I will be pleased to mail internationally so everyone is invited to enter. To enter, visit my Etsy shop and then come back and leave me a...

Giveaway!

I am feeling like celebrating for various reasons! Firstly, this is my 100th post on my blog and that seems worthy of a little celebration. Secondly, I can now count the days on this year's camping season on my fingers! It has been a busy summer out here at the campground and I am anticipating getting home for a rest - I am so looking forward to hot showers, a real bed, good lighting and my comfy stitching chair! So, I have decided to celebrate with a giveaway! I think these are great fun and have put my name down for several and even won once so it feels like time to be on the hosting end for a change. I have decided to give away a squishie of items for stitching, embellishing and inspiration. I can't show you a picture right now because of the twist I have come up with! I'll start out with a squishie containing some fun items like an oya or two, specialty threads and fancy yarns, a silkie and a couple other things. For every person who puts their name in the draw by leavi...

400 Post Giveaway

Well, gotta love those nice round numbers like 400! It is always a good excuse to celebrate by having a little giveaway. Every year I anticipate the publication of Just CrossStitch's Christmas Ornament issue. I start watching the newsstands about September and worry I won't manage to find a copy before they are sold out. This little obsession of mine probably explains how I managed to buy two copies! So, I would like to share one with my readers. If you aren't familiar with this magazine - it really is a "keeper"! Seventy-five designers have each provided a Christmas ornament with instructions. These small designs are often useful for making cross stitch cards or as motifs for cq using waste canvas as well. So, this time the draw will be a little different. Enter by leaving a comment on this post - that gives you one entry. If you follow my blog, leave another comment saying so - that gives you a second entry. If you post about the giveaway on your blog, leave a t...
