Not having a good time with the camera here. I took two photos of this - one had the computer telling me I couldn't crop it because I did not have permission, and this one went all funny and elongated! Nevertheless, it is a pretty standard piece of lace that I am sure you recognize. I was looking for some way to embellish it that was different so I first dyed it pink and then I wove metallic thread through the lace grid in the center. I used small pearl like beads to secure it. I was pleased with the way it worked since the weaving changed the appearance of the lace in my eyes and it is no longer so recognizable as that lace heart we all have in our stash. Just an idea...
So, here it is... finished! Once again, this was a workshop taught by Kim Beamish. I love her projects- they are such fun stitches. Managed to frame this one myself with a thrift store frame complete with matts that I repurposed and I am very pleased with how it turned out. I will be stitching this again because I messed up several times and want to do it again and get it right. Even with the mistakes I made though - I love it!
