Giveaways! - Giveaway Closed

I have decided it is time for some giveaways!  I have a few reasons for this - that I am paring down my stash of goodies, that I have over 200 followers now, and just for the heck of it!  lol  So, I'll keep this up for a few days at least.
The first item I am going to giveaway is this Helen Stevens ebook with video CD from Rainbow Disks.  Here is the information from the back of the disk:

In ONE SIMPLE STITCH Helen Stevens begins a crusade to prove that if you can bring your needle up through your fabric, and take it back through to the reverse, you can embroider.... and you can work all the projects in this book.
And you don't even need lengthy step-by-step instructions.  All the information you need is encompassed by a template, a colour chart and a unique "directional diagram".  Armed with these three weapons, and one simple stitch, you can slay the dragon that has held you back from working true embroidery.  And with no counted thread techniques, there's no counting either.  So sit back, enjoy the text and the videos and prepare to become a confident embroiderer.  All with ONE SIMPLE STITCH.

So, on with the giveaway!  Here are the rules:
1. Visit Rainbow Disks, come back and leave me a comment telling which disk you would most like.
2. Agree (we will be working on the honour system here!) to write a review of the CD after you have had a chance to see it, if you are the winner.
3.  If you are a follower of my blog, leave another comment telling me that and I'll put your name in the hat an extra time.

Please make sure I have a way to contact you. If you are set to "no reply" and you don't leave an email, I will draw another name.

You have a couple days to enter - I will draw the winner's name on April 1st.  Good luck!

I would love to win One Simple Stitch. I would love to do the project in this book along with learning to use the color charts. I don't do much of this stitching style as mine always looks too thick for some reason. I think this would help. Thank you for the opportunity to win this.

Hardanger for the Horrified...that would be me. I admire the work...just don't know about trying it.

I have a different book by Helen Stevens that I've used a few times. She does such gorgeous and fine work.

I agree to write a review should I be the chosen one!!

Wow, Kerry, what a fun giveaway. I love the Helen Stevens Book, of course, but I found Creative Fabric Techniques intriguing, especially in light of our monthly challenge (make your own fabric) at CQI.

I became a follower; didn`t even realize I was not one. I have had your blog feed coming in to my Google Reader for years… Anyway, of course I would write a review, so pick me, hahahahaha!

Thanks and hugs,
Cathy

Giveaway Day! (CLOSED)

I am very happy to be joining in the Giveaway Day through Sew, Momma, Sew .  I have chosen to share one of my finds from a shopping trip, or treasure hunts as I think of them.  This is an antique sewing box -  I could not resist it when I saw it for sale!  Were you able to guess the item from the sneak peek earlier in the week? The box itself is fairly small, 8 inchs X 6 inchs and 4 inches high (20 cm X 15 cm and 10 cm high).  From my research it is of Asian origin. Inside the sewing box is lined with hand-painted silk.  The inside of the lid features a neat little needlebook. In the bottom of the sewing box there are more beautiful hand-painted blossoms and an attached pincushion.  I hope you are as charmed by this little box as I was when I found it and that you will enter my giveaway.  I will be pleased to mail internationally so everyone is invited to enter. To enter, visit my Etsy shop and then come back and leave me a...

BAS - Week 79 - Feather Stitch Variations

I have about the next twenty BAS stitches scheduled and by happy coincidence this week's BAS is a series of Feather Stitch variations which coincide with this week's TAST stitch if you are following.  So, we can hit two birds with one stone!  These hardly look like feather stitch but they are.  They are created by making the "v"'s of the feather stitch vertical on the inside.  Very simple to do but a different look to an old stitch.  The second variation is created by doing two feather stitches at a time on each side, again making sure the inside of your "v"s are vertical and line up as much as possible. Same thing again in this one except they are in series of three.  To me these have the look of stitching on old crazy quilts so they are nice to add to your stable of stitch variations.  Hope you  enjoy them and have fun!

Friday Giveaway - Last Week's Winner & a New Giveaway!

The winner of last week's Friday Giveaway of the current issue of Spin Off magazine is Marilyn!  lol - an easy win for Marilyn since she was the only one who left a comment.  Marilyn didn't leave an email so I would ask her please to contact me - just leave a comment with your email and I will email you right back to get your mailing information. (I will not publish the comment with your email)  If I don't hear back from you by next Friday I will include the magazine in with the prize for next week.  Last week I asked for comments suggesting what would make a good giveaway item in the future.  Since Marilyn's suggestion was the only one, I will take it!  So, this week I will be giving away some specialty threads as Marilyn suggested, along with a package of these great clock charms I just received in the mail. Aren't these great charms?  When I found them I bought all that there were in stock, five packages, so I have enough to shar...
