Giveaway - Knit Your Own Dog (Giveaway Closed)

Well, I have done it again!  I found a book so cute that I ordered it twice so I am left with an extra copy.  Happily, my loss is your gain since I am going to give it away here on the blog.  This is really an adorable book, written by Sally Muir and Joanna Osborne and it features easy-to-follow knitting patterns for 25 different breeds of dogs.
To enter the giveaway, leave a comment here on this post telling me either something about your dog or your favourite breed of dog.
If you are a follower of my blog, you get an extra entry.  Just leave me a separate post telling me that please. 
Also, please make sure that you leave me a way to contact you if you are set to "no reply".  If I don't have a way to email you I'll draw another name.

I would love to have this book. My dog's name is Jake; he is a golden retriever, and I think he is trying to leave enough fiber on the floor for me to knit another one of him. He is a real sweetie, though.

My little dog passed away in July last year - he was half Pomeranian, half Poodle and all attitude. :) I'd love to knit a 'Foxy' for my daughter (whose pup he started out to be:) and myself.

I've been a subscriber to your blog for ages.

I have leafed through this book before - it is sooooo sweet! We have a Sheltie and he is the best dog ever... forever under my feet following me around and so full of expression when he hears key words like... Walk, Supper, Something especially when connected with "Want...." hehehe

I have 3 dogs a doberman Sophie and 2 mixed breeds Rufus and Judy. If I were to knit the mixed breeds I would have to take an ear from one and head from another! I love it, in the morning after they have been outside they all come in and pile up in my chair with me. Yes even the 80 lb. doberman. She thinks she is a lap dog too!

My Dog, Your Dog, is a cockerpoo or cockapoo (depends on who you talk to) and he is a mess. He is best noted for entertaining the grandkids when they are here. Bless him for that!

What a gorgeous name for a book!! Anyway, we are going to get our first dog in the new year as bubba will be 12mths old by then & whatever dog we get.. we are going to call it "Enkey" as that was bubba's first (understandable) word & he smiles whenever we say it to him!!

Hi Kerry . . . is there a Yorkshire Terrier in the book? I'd love to knit my Granger -- he's such a wonderful dog.

I have seen this book before and I think it is fabulous. My dog was a stray who we took in. He was pretty rough and tough, having lived on the streets for a couple of years. Now my hubby tells him that he is becoming a cat - because he loves his comforts and sleeps for hours by the woodstove or on the couch.

I haven't met a dog I don't love. What a spectacular book. I would love to knit a German Shepherd Dog. My Emma (our second dog who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge) was a GSD.

Giveaway Day! (CLOSED)

I am very happy to be joining in the Giveaway Day through Sew, Momma, Sew .  I have chosen to share one of my finds from a shopping trip, or treasure hunts as I think of them.  This is an antique sewing box -  I could not resist it when I saw it for sale!  Were you able to guess the item from the sneak peek earlier in the week? The box itself is fairly small, 8 inchs X 6 inchs and 4 inches high (20 cm X 15 cm and 10 cm high).  From my research it is of Asian origin. Inside the sewing box is lined with hand-painted silk.  The inside of the lid features a neat little needlebook. In the bottom of the sewing box there are more beautiful hand-painted blossoms and an attached pincushion.  I hope you are as charmed by this little box as I was when I found it and that you will enter my giveaway.  I will be pleased to mail internationally so everyone is invited to enter. BAS - Week 79 - Feather Stitch Variations

I have about the next twenty BAS stitches scheduled and by happy coincidence this week's BAS is a series of Feather Stitch variations which coincide with this week's TAST stitch if you are following.  So, we can hit two birds with one stone!  These hardly look like feather stitch but they are.  They are created by making the "v"'s of the feather stitch vertical on the inside.  Very simple to do but a different look to an old stitch.  The second variation is created by doing two feather stitches at a time on each side, again making sure the inside of your "v"s are vertical and line up as much as possible. Same thing again in this one except they are in series of three.  To me these have the look of stitching on old crazy quilts so they are nice to add to your stable of stitch variations.  Hope you  enjoy them and have fun!
